About the Keyword Difficulty Checker
Estimate how hard it is to rank for a keyword using a transparent, explainable heuristic — with optional real SERP signals for a sharper score.
What this tool does
Enter a keyword and get a 0–100 difficulty score with a full breakdown of the factors behind it. Unlike black-box metrics, every point is explained, so you understand why a keyword scores the way it does. For a more accurate result you can optionally add Google's total results count and, most importantly, the allintitle count.
How the estimate works
The score blends well-known ranking-difficulty signals:
- Phrase length — longer, long-tail phrases are usually easier to rank for.
- Search intent — commercial 'money' terms attract more competition than informational ones.
- Specificity — highly specific queries face fewer strong rivals.
- allintitle count — the number of pages with your exact phrase in their title, the strongest freely available signal (weighted heavily when provided).
How to get the allintitle count
Go to Google and search for allintitle:"your keyword" (with quotes). The number of results is how many pages specifically optimized their title for that phrase. Fewer competitors means an easier keyword. Enter that number in the optional field for a much sharper estimate.
How to use the score
Use difficulty to prioritize, not to decide in isolation. Pair low-difficulty keywords with decent search demand for the fastest wins, and build supporting content around them to earn authority for harder terms later.
