💡 What this checks

  • Whether the first page links to the second, and whether the second links back to the first.
  • Each direction shows the matching links, their anchor text, and whether they're follow or nofollow.
  • Useful for verifying link exchanges and partner links.

Free Reciprocal Link Checker

Check whether two pages link to each other. Enter two URLs and this tool fetches both, then reports if the first links to the second and the second links back — with the matching anchor text and whether each link is follow or nofollow. Free, no sign-up, no API key.

What this tool does

A reciprocal link is a two-way link: site A links to site B and site B links back to site A. This checker verifies that relationship in both directions at once. It is the fast way to confirm a link exchange actually went live on both sides, to audit partner links, or to see whether a site you linked to has returned the favour.

How to use it

It is instant:

  • Enter your page URL and the partner page URL.
  • Click Check reciprocal links.
  • See whether each page links to the other.
  • Review the matching links, anchor text, and follow/nofollow status.

Reading the result

The tool shows each direction separately — for example, <code>yoursite.com &rarr; partner.com</code> and the reverse — and lists the links it found, including their anchor text and whether they are follow or nofollow. If both directions have at least one link, the relationship is reciprocal. If one direction is empty, the exchange is one-sided and you may want to follow up.

Are reciprocal links good or bad?

A handful of natural reciprocal links — partners, suppliers, or genuinely related sites linking both ways — are completely normal and harmless. The risk comes from large-scale, systematic link exchanges built purely to manipulate rankings, which Google's guidelines discourage. Use reciprocal links sparingly and only where the link genuinely helps users, not just for the exchange.

Follow vs nofollow in exchanges

Only follow links pass ranking signals, so the tool flags whether each matching link is follow or nofollow. If a partner links back with a nofollow link while you link to them with a follow link, you're passing value without receiving it. Knowing the follow status on each side helps you evaluate whether an exchange is balanced and worthwhile.

How it works and its limits

The checker fetches each page's HTML directly from your browser request through our server and scans the links it contains — no API key or login required. It only sees links present in the served HTML, so links injected later by JavaScript may not be detected. Pages behind logins or aggressive bot protection may also be unreachable.

FAQ

Is this reciprocal link checker free?
Yes. It is completely free, requires no account, and uses no paid API.
What is a reciprocal link?
A reciprocal (two-way) link is when two sites link to each other. This tool checks both directions and reports what it finds.
Are reciprocal links bad for SEO?
A few natural ones are fine. Large-scale, systematic link exchanges made only to manipulate rankings go against Google's guidelines and can be risky.
Does it show follow vs nofollow?
Yes. For each matching link it shows the rel attribute and whether the link is follow or nofollow, so you can judge whether an exchange is balanced.
Why didn't it find a link I know exists?
The tool reads the served HTML, so links added by JavaScript after load may not be detected. Pages behind logins or bot protection can also be unreachable.
Does it work with subdomains?
Host matching ignores the www prefix and matches the domain, so links between www and non-www versions are detected. Other subdomains are treated as separate hosts.
Is my data stored?
No. The URLs are used only to fetch and compare the two pages for your request and are not stored.
